Atlanta is a vibrant and colorful city known for it nightlight energy, delicious flavors, and southern hospitality. It is also an incredibly important city to the ongoing history of music with countless famous music artists starting and establishing their careers in Atlanta. The design attempts to embody this intangible concept of music and sound through a physical translation of geometry, form, texture light and shadow. The store layout was arranged into a series of rooms that alternate between two distinct yet complimentary material palettes. A textured acoustical wall treatment, representative of the geometric foam panels used for soundproofing, was paired with thick thresholds and double sided interior window details to mimic the architecture of the recording studio built to create the acoustic separation for the vocal booths.
